Tech Week!

Greetings Once Again Cast & Parents!

Tech week is finally upon us! Which means some VERY important details and changes to the rehearsal schedule! Those details are below. You may receive multiple emails this evening, as I will be sending out specific costume requests, the volunteer jobs, etc to some cast and family members.

Please read all the information in this email! It is important.

Rehearsal Info Week of 7/18 from Tanya & Laura
Monday is the official start of Tech week. Which means that we are on the final countdown to the show. Time to run with mics, set, props, lights & costumes. It is exciting to see all these details come together!
* Please arrive by 5:45 so we can start right at 6, if not a little before
* EVERYONE must have their scripts, music and pencils; EVERY NIGHT. (Also, please review your blocking)
* There are NO absences this week allowed.
* End time is variable. Most likely end times will be between 10-11pm (closer to 11).
* Come prepared with snacks & fluids. This is a high energy and high stress week & the cast needs lots of energy & to not get sick!
* Sleep/Rest as much as you can this week.

Volunteer On Show Nights
We are still in need of volunteers to help us out on show nights. Mostly the 2nd weekend, but a few on the first weekend as well. It is a fun way to get involved & you don't have to have experience to help. Please contact me asap to get on the calendar. Here is a link to the schedule, so you can see the holes we need to fill. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AusMpCBT5iNxdGF6RnZUV2dRTTJvZkhQN0lfWmh1a3c&hl=en_US (please note that you cannot put yourself in on the calendar)

I will be sending a separate email shortly to those who have volunteered with the schedule and details. Thanks!

Costume Requests
Avery is still looking for a couple items for specific cast members. I will be sending a separate email to those members. However, all cast members are asked to bring in keds (white) for girls, converse (black/white) for teens, black dress shoes for adults; ONLY if you have them. DO NOT go out and spend money! Please bring in Monday or at the latest, by Tuesday.

From Katie, your Musical Director
Please review and sing all your music at home!
* Guys that are in "Talk To Me": work on it. Please let Katie know if you are available to get together during the day this week.
* Entire Cast: "Alot of Living": pay attention to it and look at your parts.
* If you parents/family are not sick of the music, you aren't practicing enough at home!

Thursday is "Preview Night"
On Thursday, we invite FAMILY only to come and see the show. While this is our final rehearsal, it helps to have an actual audience for the cast. It is still a rehearsal, but, a very important one. So, if you are able to come, please do!

Call times for the show & parade details for Saturday, will be sent out by Wednesday. Thanks for reading this LONG email! Questions? Let me know via email, call me or come talk to me at rehearsal.

Lots of Information! (copy of email)

Greetings Cast & Parents!

Another email jam packed of information for you regarding Bye Bye Birdie! If you have questions, let me know!

From Avery (Your Costumer)
Costumes are coming along. We would like you to search your closets though to see if you have things we could use! I promise that if you bring something in for us to borrow, we will label it and you will get it back after the production. So, raid your closets, here is what we are looking for. Think GREASE.

Girls: peddler pushers (capri pants) in any color, keds, sweaters (cardigan types that button up), poodle skirts, 50s looking tops
Guys: straight leg jeans (501s, Wranglers, etc.), black/white converse

We have some items that need to be altered slightly (hemmed, pinned, taken in, embelshments added, etc.) If you can help us, please email Diana (reply to this email).

From Laura & Tanya
Please remember to come to rehearsal in appropriate clothes. Meaning, clothes & shoes you can dance in. Jeans & flip flops are not okay. Cast members must have their scripts, music book, pencil & highlighter every day; no matter WHO your character is.

Starting on Tuesday, 7/5, rehearsal will be from 6-10pm. With only a few weeks left until we open, we will be busy! Please bring a snack and water bottle. Parents, if you would like to send a snack to share, that is fine too. The cast is using alot of energy and they need calories to replace it!

Saturday 7/9 Rehearsal 10am until approx 3pm. End time is a little up in the air at this point, details later in the week. But, cast members: bring lunch, drinks & snacks.

Sunday 7/10: The cast has been invited to preform that the Renton Car Show. While this is not required, we would like all cast members to come join us! Please let Tanya know at Tuesday's rehearsal if you can come. We also need parents/siblings to join us to help pass out flyers! If you want to come, please email Diana (me) asap! It will be a fun day. Details on time and location to come later this week. Our performance time is approx 1pm, but, we will meet earlier.

From Diana (Prop Person & Volunteer Coordinator)

Work Party Wed 7/6: We are having our first work party to start painting and creating from things for the show on Wed 7/6 at Renton Civic Theater 12-4. Show up when you can. Wear clothes you can paint in. Parents, siblings and friends welcome! We will be painting signs, receivers and some other things. Bring brushes of all sizes & paint if you have some! I would love adults to join us, as we have some labeling & organizing of costumes to do!

Gold Key: I am looking for someone who has the skills to make a prop "key to the city". Whether our of PVC, strofoam, wood, whatever. If you are creative and want to make this, let me know.

Parade: The Renton River Days Parade is on 7/23 & it is tradition that the cast participates. Last year, the cast won first place (even though we didn't have a float! The cast had so much energy and danced and sang so great, the judges loved them!) So, we have to defend that title! In brainstorming, we were thinking it would be super cool if we could have a classic car ride with us! So, do you have a 50s or 60s (okay, or a really cool 70s) car that you want to show off? Let me know asap! And, save the date! As we will need parents to walk with us & hand our flyers!

Tshirts: Our Tshirts have been designed and are being printed. All cast members will receive one. Parents: if you would like one, please email me and give me your size. The charge will be $15, if you get it before 7/17. After that, the price will be $20. If you would like it in time for the car show on Sunday the 10th, I need your size by Tuesday 7/5 10am. After that I can't guarantee, but will try!

Tickets
Tickets are now onsale! Spread the word! Send your friends, family, strangers to http://rentoncivictheater.com/ to purchase tickets! They can also call the RCT box office at 425-226-5529.

We have postcards & posters for you to distribute. Just ask Tanya for some at rehearsal! Take to work, when you are out shopping, wherever. Just please follow the law & ask before posting them!

Whew...another email jammed packed full of information! If you have questions, let me know. Don't forget all this info is also over on our blog at http://summerteenmusical.blogspot.com/ . I have also been trying to remember to take pictures during rehearsals and post them there. So, you can see how much fun the cast is having bringing Sweet Apple to life!

Until Next Time!
